Polaris Robotic Cleaners
- Polaris Alpha iq: Works really well but prone to having issues. Does a nice job cleaning but avoid the Alpha iq plus as it's not worth the extra money.
- Polaris VRX iq+: Has a big basket, climbs onto sun shelf, and requires a push back into the pool occasionally. Cleans well even with lots of leaves and pollen.
- Polaris 9650: Amazing cleaner that cleans everything really well, including the waterline. May require some manual brushing for steps.
- Polaris 360: A classic go-to cleaner that just works, especially for cleaning dirt off the bottom of the pool.
Dolphin Robotic Cleaners
- Dolphin: Highly recommended by a pool guy in Dallas area, with large debris baskets and a preference over Polaris robots.
- Dolphin Nautilus: Worth every penny, climbs walls, and excellent at cleaning.
- Dolphin Explorer e20: Climbs walls, gets the waterline, and requires no manual vacuuming.
Other Robot Cleaners
- Aiper Seagull Pro: An option that makes users extremely happy.
- WYBOT C1 Pro: Users love its regular cleaning settings, obstacle detection, motor performance, and maintenance-free operation.
- Evo 614iq: Equivalent to Polaris IQ, recommended for its excellent vacuuming capabilities and little maintenance requirements.
Betta Pool Skimmers
- Betta Pool Skimmer: Keeps the top of the pool looking clean, but the blue color may not age well, recommend getting the white one.
Other Recommendations
- Consider getting a pool service if maintaining a robot cleaner may become a hassle.
- Look into entry-level Polaris units like P955 or P945 for effective cleaning without the need for fancy features.
- Opt for a robot cleaner with a filter basket instead of a bag for a better experience.
Negative Experiences
- Pentair Prowler: Avoid this cleaner as it's not recommended.
- Orca: Users experienced issues like wheel track failure, difficulty climbing walls when full of leaves, and getting stuck on the main drain.
