Insights from the First Month
Thank you so much to everyone for a successful first month. The core idea was shipped in a few days and we never expected the traction we got through Newsletters and Blogs picking up the project. I wanted to quickly share some insights when looking through how the product was used.
The Data: What We Discovered
When Reddit Scout first launched, the purpose was to narrow down functionality to specifically do bottom of the funnel product research. It was quickly discovered that people were using it in many different ways that weren't the original intention'

In its current form, Reddit Scout doesn't do well specifically at the news queries at this since it's broadly looking across Reddit and so the news it retrieves is most likely not news anymore.

Seeing these search intents, we can determine that the scope of Reddit Scout needs to expand.

Meeting User Needs
The original monetization strategy was to assist users in making a purchase and then getting revenue from the affiliate link. However, if we're to pivot based on the user search data that strategy isn't as viable anymore.
It seems that even though competitors exist in this space, people are hungry for more solutions, whether they would pay for these solutions is a different story. And will require another test.
Product Evolution: Introduction of Reddit Scout Pro
At the time of this writing, we've had about 30 signups for the Pro version. Looking at the market we feel there's an opportunity to create a Reddit insights product.

Conclusion
